Jessica is Head of China at BTPLaw LLC and a Singapore-qualified corporate lawyer specialising in cross-border transactions involving Singapore, China and Greater China.

Jessica advises Chinese, Singapore and international companies, investors and founders on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, venture capital and private equity investments, start-up financings, and general corporate and commercial matters. A significant part of her practice involves transactions along the China–Singapore corridor, including investments into Singapore by Chinese businesses and investors, Singapore-based transactions with a PRC dimension, and cross-border acquisitions and restructurings involving businesses or assets in China.

Having spent several years practising in Shanghai with leading Chinese law firms, Jessica has extensive experience working with PRC companies, multinational corporations and international investors on both inbound and outbound China transactions. Her experience enables her to work closely with Singapore and PRC counsel on transactions involving parallel regulatory, corporate and commercial considerations in the two jurisdictions.

Her broader experience includes advising on corporate governance, intellectual property and commercial arrangements, as well as transactions in the technology, semiconductor, pharmaceutical and healthcare, education, manufacturing and engineering sectors.

Jessica has acted for multinational corporations and investment funds on acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and strategic investments across Asia. She has also contributed to legal publications and practitioner resources on corporate and M&A matters involving China and Singapore, including Practical Law materials on China transactions and the Singapore Private M&A Comparative Guide.

Jessica is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. She holds an LLB from the London School of Economics and an MSc from University College London.
